My new model 71 arrived today
. It's been a long week waiting for it to show up, I think Mod71Alaska sent it slow on purpose to watch me squirm
. Well, it's no longer new in the box, I loaded up some 200 grain Hornady's and tried it out. Amazingly, I hit my gong at 170 yards on the 3rd shot offhand, I never touched the sights
. It's one sweet rifle and I would like to thank Mod71Alaska for making it possible, what a great guy to deal with.
Here it is with me and a big smile.

My guage caught .3 inches, but the clouds and showers were nice and cooled things off a bit.
It appeared that our Farmersville place may have had a bit more, so I will call my grandson and ask him to check the guage that I gave him.
We need a few inches - oh well, maybe this weekend.

Ricky, That is one beautiful rifle. I have had the pleasure to deal with Victor on numerous times and he is a sheer delight to do business with. Thanks for the post and I wish you well and much success with that beautiful rifle. I know your talents behind the loading bench will wring out every possible bit of accuracy and power of that beauty.

Thanks for the replies, I hope later today to try a few more rounds, maybe on paper to see what she will do.
