Winchester 9422 Mag.

Post by rangerider7 »

I have been taking the 9422 mag out to my ranch the last few weeks because I haven't been using it enough lately. I'm amazed how accurate and fun this gun is on small game. If you don't have one be on the lookout, they are great! IMHO

I've been on the lookout for a long time. I just can't seem to find one for what I would want to pay. Of course it could just be that I'm a cheapskate. :D

First scoped rifle I ever shot. It was like magic being able to see and hit things that way.

I really like the accuracy of mine the only thing that I would change would be the barrel length. When I went looking for a 9422 mag the only thing that I could come up with was a trapper. I have always prefered a longer barrel.

Really Baby, I swear that it just followed me home.

Rangerider7 you sure know how to make a grown man cry  I had to sell my 9422M yesterday

But congratulations to you on having a fine rifle. :D

The police here can make it awkward to own several firearms ( I nearly wrote too many firearms but there ain't no such thing) so my bargain $198.00 Winchester had to go, to make way for my Savage 24. I did make a small profit $80.00 however. I still have my other 9422 which I hope will be a keeper. I only had the Magnum a short time and took two foxes with it both one shot kills.
It was the second one I have owned and maybe not the last.

As much as I love my 22/410, if push came to shove, I'm pretty sure I would have kept the 9422M - especially since they're worth about $800US these days, in the condition yours was in.

Yup, I should have let my Browning ADT go instead, I'm not really into semi autos.
I never intended the 9422M to be a keeper as I was going to trade it for a .32/20 when I found one over here.
The photo does not show the cracked stock that I later replaced with a budget stock from Numrich Arms ($14.95) I refinished the stock and forearm with an oil finish and I thought it looked even better. I intend to do the same with my 9422 LR.
The .22 Magnum is not that popular over here, so I would not get anything like $800.00 for it.
Like I said it only cost me $198.00.

If it was not for our stupid gun laws I would keep them all but the security required and the red tape I have to go through drives me nuts! :x

I've owned a 9422 for 30 years, but never owned a 9422M. Perhaps I should consider adding one to my group of lever guns.

Yes, perhaps indeed.

I think I must.

So there for I will.

Been nice talking to you all.

GameKeeper,
Sorry about your 9422M, but I love that old Land Rover. I 'd love to have one some day. Oh, and it's got to have the right side steering wheel too.

I had one on the classifieds for some days; lots of looks but no takers. Still got it for sale if anyone would like one. Pictures are available here - http://web.tampabay.rr.com/jimstags/9422M/. I had $575/shipped as the price. If interested, make me a reasonable offer.

Thanks,
Jim
