1895 Saddle Ring Carbine ?

Post by Sikeston Slinger »

Howdy to the board!

Does anyone know if on the last Win/Miroku run of 1895 SRCs, was the .405 chambered in this offering? It seems all I can find are either .30-06 or .30-40. I appreciate any info.

Pretty sure that the Browning carbines were only in .30 caliber. Don't believe orginal Winchester '95 carbines were ever offered in .405 either. I could be mistaken, but I'm almost positive that I've never been mistaken...I think.

Carbines were not offered in anything but .30-06 or .30-40. Rifles were offered in .30-06, .270 Win (many withdrawn and reworked to .405) and .405 Win. BROWNINGS were offered in .30-06 and .30-40 as rifles only.

Hobie

Original 95 SRCs were also available in .303 Brit and .30-03, though both are fairly rare.

Like all Winchester models, the Model 1895 Carbines were available in all calibers made for the rifles, but only on special order. I recently saw a '95 SRC in .405, but darned if I can find the reference. I will keep looking.

For anyone interested - CDNN has a few listing for these guns (break-down or whole). I think they are in .30-06
