Re: Browning B92 Question
Hermann, Welcome to the forum. Please forgive Mr. Murbach. He forgets himself from time to time. Do not let it discourage you. Your questions are perfectly reasonable. I do believe the B-92 .44 came along in 1978. Please do not take my word however. I remember a gun mag. article written on the 92 about that time. As for the .357 I can not say but I am sure you will receive a civil, intelligent response in short order. Regards. 1866.

Re: Browning B92 Question
Here's the history I can find, taken from original Browning catalogs:
1st year: 1978 -.44 Mag. only. Stayed with just the one caliber through '81.
1st year of .357 & .44: 1982 Note: I don't have an '82 Browning catalog, but both calibers are in the '83 Gun Digest which would have come out in the late summer of '82. Both calibers are in the '83 catalog. Stayed with both calibers through '85.
1st year of .357 only: 1986. This was also the last year the '92 was offered, it is gone from the '87 catalog.
So it would appear that the .44 Mag. was offered from 1978 to 1985.

Re: Browning B92 Question
1986 was the last year of B92 production.
During the run, besides standard .357's & .44 mags, 6,000 .44 mag Centennials were made in 1978, and I don't know how many B92 BCA Commemoratives to commemorate BCA's 3rd Anniversary.
The same action was later used to make 5,000 Model 65's in 2 grades
(3500 Gr-1 & 1500 Gr-2) in an 1989 production run, then 5,000 Model 53's in a 1990 run - both of which took until/were sold out by 1990's end.

Great info!
I´ll print and store that on disk!

P.S.: did I say, I LOVE my 92? It´s nearly like NEW! At the most fired perhaps 50 times, NO single scratch anywhere! And I have a S & W M 29-6, 6", blue, with non MIM Parts in like new condition to accompany it!
I am willing to buy any 92 that turns up in my contry, in reasonable condition, at reasonable pricesas long as money permits!
P.P.S.: could it be, that CAS will "use up" collectible B 92´s?
