Wonderful rifle in an outstanding cartridge.

The 92/53 action and .32-20 are pretty popular around these parts.

That would be a slick little piece and in the best of the 92 rounds. Any 92 in the 32wcf is just great a real fun rifle. Get one and you will never regret it.

The 32-20 can best be described as a 30 caliber 22magnum. It's a whole lot of fun. Laser Cast makes an excellent 115gr bullet. You'll have to load to your rifle, but 9.5gr of 2400 works for me.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

The Browning Model 53 is a superb little rifle in both fit and finish.

There are some pretty hot handloads too, for a strong rifle like a 53. 100 years ago cartridges in .32-20, .38-40 et. al. were sold in two powers: the black powder or equivalent performance, for pistols and weak rifle actions like too Winchester 73; and the "HP" or high power loads for modern rifles like the Marlin 94, Winchester 92, and Savage 23. In a rifle, that means about 2000 fps with a 100 gr bullet, or about double the muzzle energy of the standard load (which is, as was said above, roughly equal to a .22 WMR).

The 53s I've handled had pretty wood and very slick actions. Not sure why I haven't bought one.

I owned one recently. It was a gorgeous little rifle and shot very well. It was so pretty that I never took it out and used it for its intended purpose. It just sat in the safe and looked pretty. If I could find one that was already dinged up I would use it.

If I had anything to complain about the Browning Model 53, it would be the glossy finish they put on the wood. The first thing I would do if I had one is to remove the glossy finish and put a traditional authentic Winchester finish on it. Then you would have a jaw-dropping, ballad-inspiring, rifle.

I love my 53. If I find another at a good price I want to have it rebarreled or sleeved to 25-20 (my favorite round) Dad had a Winchester 92 in 25-20 when I was a kid and had it stolen from the house. Anyone got a nice marlin 1894CL in 25-20 they want to get rid of maybe we can do some tradin:)
