If I could use the search function I would have posted this as an update. A while back I requested prayers for two of my wife's cousins, who were both fighting cancer. One, Judy, passed away last month. We received the call this evening that Peggy lost her battle with cancer today.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated. Peggy's Mother Hilda lost her husband of more than 50 years a few years back to Alzheimers. Now this. I wished we lived closer...
Y.K., Very sorry to hear of this. We do seem to hear of such matters much too often. God Bless and I truly hope you all find the strength. Best Wishes and prayers sent. 1886.
Thank you all for your prayers. My wife and I drove up to Moundsville (WV) Sunday for the calling hours, and attended the funeral Monday before driving back home. Couldn't stay long - we had left the kids with my Mom. It was an easy drive, but long. Gave my wife and I a chance to "catch up" without the every 15-second interruption most parents are famiiar with - "guess what?". Listened to my "Quigley Down Under" soundtrack on the way there and back as well. Even had a bit of time before the funeral Monday to stop by the Cabela's store outside of Wheeling. Slobbered on a lot of leverguns in their Gun Library, but Cabela's is too proud of their stuff in most cases, and this was certainly one of those times! They did have a nice bunch of levers though!
The service was very nice. It is just hard to watch a parent say goodbye to a child, regardless of the age. I can think of no worse pain in the world. Though as Christians we are comforted in the fact that we will meet again, and our loved one is at peace in their eternal reward, it is hard nonetheless.
