Cheeep 30-30 ammo

You guys have any experience with these?

Seems like some pretty cheap plinking ammo if you don't reload.

Prvi Partizan is good ammo. Some of their stuff is made by the same outfit that used to sell under the name "Hansen Cartridge Company." Their stuff was as good, or better, than PMC or the commodity labels from the major makers. It is difficult to find Prvi Partizan .223 ammo because it is quality stuff at a very reasonable price.

Old Ironsights, you better hurry up and buy some before I buy it up. :D

Their 7.62x54 is excellent stuff. Have a couple boxes of .303s but haven't fired any yetbut wet trough a ton of Hansen ammo and always good stuff.

It MAY be OK as I have no experience with any ammo NOT made here in the USA. We all need to rethink why this country is so screwed up as most people buy junk from abroad. (man, I'm a miserable *** :D )--------Sixgun

You sure are :D :D :D

It really isn't bad. Especially when you look at the price of the US made factory ammo. I paid $40 for a box of .444s the other day just so I had some when the new 94/ .444 got here.

My dies and brass arrived a day later but still couldn't stand the thought of having a new rifle and no ammunition for it. :o

A Lee Loader is $20. Privi is good ammo - especially for practicing and the brass should be boxer primed/reloadable too.

With that Lee Loader, you can cut that cost in half though.

It is slow, but makes good ammo.

I have to agree. Seeing Budweiser sold this week really sobered me up.

That comes to about $11.40 per box plus shipping...not bad. However....

I buy Remington or Winchester 30-30 at Walmart for about $12.50 a box (and skip the shipping). When I stocked up last year it was still under $11, but those days are gone.

If looking for plinking ammo try
wisconsincartridge.com

30-30, 150 gr though.
100 rounds $ 51.25..plus whatever shipping.
I got a couple of boxes of 45/70
300 gr JHP at a gun show. Pretty
mild stuff, mfr spec 1530 FPS.Really
fun to shoot, plink, and deer at
short range. Notice now that load
they now offer is rated at 1800 FPS
close to Win. and Rem. factory stuff.

I'm only going to mention in passing how strange I find it for people to question buying foreign goods, yet still stop at FallApart... which as arguably caused at least as much or more displacement of American workers (small businesses) as foreign outsourcing as displaced labor... :?

I agree on the Lee Loader. I've got one. But I'm only going to have a .30-30 for a bit less than a week... so I needed some cheap but decent ammo fast to test it out.

Have to look into wisconsin cartridge though.

There's no way I'd buy that foreign ammo for anything other than plinking.

And at $12 a box it's more expensive than Federal Blue Box 150/170gr that I use for hunting.

I picked up 15 boxes at Sports Academy back in May for $153.00 (total)

So, to me it's not worth it.

You know Old Ironsights, these guys are right. Even though it is good ammo, the blue box Federal stuff is less expensive (I must admit that I did my math wrong when I posted earlier saying I'd buy the stuff up  ). I personally have no problem using quality foreign ammo; I've used Norma ammo in some of my better guns for years, and regularly use PMC, but there is really no reason to buy good when better costs the same or less.

The blue box Federal 150 grain ammo is what most of my 30-30s are sighted in for. I remember, recently, when you could get them real cheap ($7.00 a box). It's what I use for shooting, most of which is plinking. The amount of ammo I actually use to take an animal with could barely fill up my pockets. I could fill up a truck with the ammo I use for shooting.

Never seen the stuff. But then, not a lot of .30-30 sold in Indiana. Not really a "legal" caliber here for anything but varmint/plinking.
