Tornado this morning.
We had a tornado touch down about 600 yards south of here and then hopping over our place a mind wreaking havoc on some apartments to our north northeast.
We are fine. No damage.

Darn, glad you were not damaged. Now go by your lottery ticket.

Glad you are OK. Tornadoes can be extremely unpleasant. Extremely!

Glad you're safe, Scott. I dreaded those tornado watches and warnings when I lived in Sweetwater.

Re: Tornado this morning.
Today we have the Canadian forest fire smoke, a yellow haze with just a hint of a breeze, it's not going anywhere fast although the forecast is supposed to clear out overnight.

.
One skipped our house (but not our woods) around 1994, and as I ran to slide the 12 ft wide pole-barn door shut (it aims southwest and the 'wind storm' was coming from that direction), the straight winds preceding the tornado lifted me off my feet while running - just like the cartoons, for a few seconds I'm up in the air (probably only a foot or so) 'running' but going backwards. Then the wind died down enough to make it to the lee of the house and I got inside. We have no basement but the structure is good solid block with lots of shear walls (block) on the first floor and even the upper floor has block 4 ft before wood, and 3/4" plywood on both sides screwed into joists for shear walls there, so we were good. The actual tornado flattened 15 acres of our woods, and left a strip a few hundred yards wide for miles in either direction.
Thankfully you were 'skipped'.

Tornadoes are something I definitely don't miss! Exceedingly rare here in the Tularosa Basin.

Glad to hear you are safe and spared the damage. Sorry to hear that others, in your immediate area, were not so luck, though.

Happy you are okay, Scott. Prayers up for those who weren't as fortunate.
