Bought a Garmin C-1 Chrony
Anyone else own one of these? They are expensive little contraptions but I unfortunately 'winged' my Prochrono a while back so I decided to upgrade. Was suprised how small they are, just 3" wide or so. Will take it on its maiden flight tomorrow with the 44 mag Rossi.

I have a conventional chronograph with screens, a MagnetoSpeed and a Garmin. I have tested them against one another and found them very close. The Garmin is very compact, easier to set up by far than the others, provides a wealth of information and data storage and sends that data to a smart phone.

Wonderful invention! Two years with mine. So easy to set up and use. So quick to use I use it every session. I have learned so much about my rifles using the Garmin.
Re: Bought a Garmin C-1 Chrony
I've had mine for nearly a year. Very handy and accurate.
I gave my old - but still functional - Oehler 35P to a young man who worked at the LGS.

I do love mine, I have had it 2 years now and use it almost every shooting session.

Been looking at those because the magnito speed hasn’t worked that well shooting suppressed. The Athlon is less than 400 at most places. Anyone have a preference of the Garmen or Athlon ?

I have a Garmin. I frankly was unwilling to spend that kind of money when my old chronograph worked fine.
But I had a friend who wanted a rifle and we made a trade.
I’m quite happy with it and I use it all the time.
I rarely have any false readings or failures.
It rides in my truck all the time

I went with the Athlon Rangecraft. It's so much quicker to set up than my old F1 Crony, and a smaller package to haul around.

Re: Bought a Garmin C-1 Chrony
I have a Garmin, and I've been really impressed with it. I have used it with .177 air rifle pellets, on up to 4000 fps 22-250 loads which were difficult for my old chronograph to pick up reliably. This little Garmin has not missed a single shot, ever, through thousands of rounds. I never go to the shooting bench without it if I'm testing out handloads.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I took it out and it worked well. Very handy being able to sit at the bench with it.

Re: Bought a Garmin C-1 Chrony
I bought one when they came out .love it eaiser and faster than my oheleor 35 to set up....
piece of advice at least for me that i do . because it is soo small and light .as a precaution i will take a roll of duct tape and tape the legs down to the shooting bench . that thing cost to much to take a chance

I have one and LOVE it.
Definitely worth every penny.
Trying to set up the old style Chrony at a public range is a hassel and every few shots doesn't register, etc.
