I just picked up a 'new ' levergun... with a TOP lever that is!
Its a Parker VHE 12ga vent rib with 32" bbls and choked Full and Full.
Most likely a live bird or trap gun. Being a trap and helice shooter I figured needed it!

Of course the recoil pad is not correct, the color case is worn but the ejectors are timed perfectly and most importantly, I got my feet in the pics!
I ran the serial number on the PGCA site and factory records are available. Im curious to see what info they have!

So the guys on the Parker forum have noted this could be 1 of 18 or 20 guns made in this configuration. I knew it was probably a rarity as it is a V grade gun, to have a vent rib you would think a higher grade would be in order.
Thanks Vall, I've just recently gotten into SxS guns. Now I own 5 , two
Parkers, a Winchester, a Rizzini and a CZ. from 12 ga to 410. Though I need a 16 ga to round out the 'set' .
So after posting this Parker on the Parker collectors forum someone chimed in and stated as few as 18 or 20 produced in this model/configuration.
Also after inputting the serial number confirms it's post 1934( probably 1935) production. Also factory records exist so I have sent for the factory records letter.

I think it’s somewhere in the 18-23 area of 32” vent rib guns that were designated trap guns . Typically BTFE , lots of times SST . I had a VHE 12 32” vent rib singke trigger trap forend Monte Carlo stock made in 1937 that for some reason I sold to a friend in PA two years ago and had regretted it ever since . This same fellow sent it to Wyoming to be in a Lock Stock and Barrel auction , Friday I was fortunate to get it back at a savings from what I sold it for . The picture was three or four years ago in WV at a tower shoot , unless I’m mistaken those were the first feathered birds I ever killed with it . Well that’s not counting pigeons in the Colombaire ring .

Oh so you did buy that!? Nice that you got it back.
I hope the records come through with details as I'm very interested in the who/what spec'ed this one.

So now... I have to compliment you both and two gorgeous shotguns.
Thanks ! I’m actually supposed to be selling off stuff in prep for the big move to the Philippines and had sold the gun I bought last Friday because of that , but I sure was missing it . So I bought it back ! I have one friend that’s a Parker collector that’s agreed to keep several shotguns for me and my gunsmith buddy will keep a handful of rifles and one revolver for me . I’m hoping once I’m over there to get a Krieghoff or Perazzi shotgun for limited clays shooting and an RIA 1911 for defense purposes .

I finally received the factory records letter from the Parker Collectors,
Left the factory in 1937.
It was built as 32" with trap forearm( beavertail), single selective trigger.
The letter lists the stock dimensions however my measurements do not jive with the letter.
Stocks and forearms were serialized to the gun, the stock does have the serial number, not the forearm. Possibly new wood was done at some point.
The Parker made it's debut on the international trap range today!
I was finally able to sneak away and go shooting.
The guys I normally shoot with all decided to NOT show up. So I shot by myself.
The first round was a dismal 17. But I could not fault the gun because when the jerk behind the trigger did his part the targets broke spectacularly.
Now I haven't shot but 50 rounds through this gun so far and I know a small learning curve is needed on the bunker so I pulled my head outta my a€£ and got down to business.
I then broke a 21 then a 23 and another 21.
I'll take an 83 with a 'new' gun any day on the bunker.
I was also trying some new wad combos, the 17 score was with a load that won't be reproduced!
I Love it!!! 40+ years ago I shot a 12 week trap league with a Browning BSS 30" SXS . I put a leather comb on the stock to raise it like my 870 trap gun. It was in the fall/winter at night and I can still see those birds "framed" by the barrels . some of the Guys were so flippin upset that I broke more birds than they did with some purty expensive guns .I was just a kid and it was just a Great Time for Me. that league was at a Winchester Factory sponsored club that was top shelf all the way. regular trap/skeet and international trap/skeet as well. Life was Great Then. To be young again.

Funny you should mention a B-SS 30” as I e sorta been looking for one to take to the Philippines . Jap Brownings are tougher than nails so I’d feel better with one of them there vs taking a nice Parker which might never make it back in the USA and then there’s the matter of parts . B-SS parts can still be had Parker parts are finding used ones or having them hand made . I used to have a buddy in Doylestown PA that had a cabin in the Poconos , often I’d drive up on a Wednesday or Thursday and come back Sunday . I was up there once in the summer and he was in a trap league so we came back to Doylestown one night for him to shoot unbeknownst to me he brought a Citori 28” field gun that was IC/M for me to shoot of memory serves I broke 93 or 94 with the mid barrel but the funny thing was I tied the high gun that night .
