.30-30 Trapper Spotted
I stopped by one of the local pusher's, today - and saw a pretty nice Winchester M94 top-eject.30-30 Trapper, that already had a side peep installed, in almost perfect cndition except for a very slight freckling, low on both sides of the receiver in the area below the loading port.
It was there on consignment, tagged at either $425 or $475- I disremember which - since I went to a second hovel, looked at several other guns & bought a NAA Mini .22 Mag. I think that makes me dis-associative, or sumptin'.

It makes you smart, $400 is too much for that gun. I've been thinking about the NAA revolvers myself. Which did you get and how do you like it?

I got a barely used 1" Mini, in .22 Mag-only, that a previous owner put stag grips onto it's birdshead gripframe - $125 OTD.
I was missing the .22mag-only Black Widow, I gave to an undercover statie I know. He needed a hideout that wouldn't shout "cop", and I had replaced the huge rubber bumpers with black rubber birdshead smoothies - so he was salivatatin'.
The new purchase is close - just a little shorter barrel & no adjustable rear sight - but it's even smaller than the Black Widow, and I like that !
No pics (sorry) - My son's got the digi camera with him, off on a Caribou jaunt near the Arctic Circle this week.

Pete,
I got mine in 1980, it was pristine. Brand new in the box, even with the hang tags. (Still got the owners manual and hang tags, box is long ago gone.)
That was before a trigger job, had that set at 2.5 pounds, and the installation of a Williams FP rear sight.
Now lots of rounds downrange later it's nice, but no longer pristine. It's actually beginning to show some character now.
I think I'll take it out and fondle it tonight.

Nahhhh, molesting would be mounting a 20X scope, or a forward handgrip, or sumthin like that....Pete44ru wrote: ::::: a Winchester Molester !
Fondleing, opps I mean wiping down and inspecting, is a sign of good Levergun maintenance. It's also a good way to spend an winter evening in front of a good fire with a hot drink.

Joe,
I just helped my partner install a wood stove in their place up in the mountains. Not too shabby...
Just imagine, leaning back in the Lazy Boy, the smell of oak burning, a good Selleck western on TV, and wiping down a good Winchester .......
And as long as I get my chores done, my wife doesn't mind so much..

OK guys, I confess. I don't have any pics of my 94's!!! None at all !!! I can't believe it !!! Must have been too busy caressing and shooting all these years.
I'll have to borrow a camera and take some pics this weekend.
Those Mirchesters do shoot well though.
