Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Very tricky getting on here.
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Hey! Look at that. Three hundred pages. Admittedly, it's a lot more low key these days, but that's quite a run.
Congrats OS for hitting the big 3-0-0.
Warm and windy here this morning. We lost a ton of snow the last day or so. Gonna take a run up by camp this afternoon and do a recon of how the road looks. Going up tomorrow and want to see if I'm going to use the sled or the 4 wheeler to get in. I have 2 huge brush piles from last year that I need to burn. I hate burning brush but it has to be done.
I will drag it piecemeal from out back up in the camp dooryard to burn. Then I can keep it small and there is gravel to burn it on. Duff in the ground can burn unseen for a long time and pop up somewhere else.
A friend of mine cleared an area and burned a big brush pile he made with his excavator. A couple months later he made another pile in the same spot. 2 months after that he walked out of his house obe night and glanced in the direction of the pile and the sky was lit up. He want down and the pile was ablaze. It had been 4 months and the 1st piles fire was still burning underground. After 2 months it ignited the 2nd pile. Luckily, it was contained, and he dug the ground out with his excavator and got it extinguished for good.

I don't think I've had any disappear,, but sometimes it's difficult to get them to post. Many times the forum just won't load. Sometimes I go days without getting on. I fear if it keeps up forum membership and activity will suffer.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Great day at camp yesterday. We could get around with 4 wheelers pretty good with chains on. It was 12 degrees so the snow was frozen pretty hard instead of normal spring conditions. It warmed up to the high 20s in the afternoon but it it stayed solid.
I got a fire going and dad boiled up and got some coffee going. I went out to the shed and got my boys 4 wheeler started. We had ridden ours in pulling the jet sled. We had the snowmobile in the trailer just in case, but didn't need it.
I had wanted to burn some of the brush piles we had from last year, but that was a no go. Even a little diesel fuel didn't help. Maybe next time.....
After coffee, I took the kids 4 wheeler for a little explore. I was surprised to see deer had moved back in and had some trails in the snow here and there. It's early for the yards to be breaking up. It's always strange this time of year cause there will be bare ground in one spot, while 20 feet away there is 3 feet of snow. Depends on where the sun hits.
I made it down to the stream at the old Bridge abutments. The stream was certainly up, but had gone down from where it'd been.
I snapped a few pics for you guys.

Great pictures, OW but they make me feel cold. Our winter and spring are considered to be very warm and dry. It was up in the 80s yesterday so I went for a nice ride on my BMW.
You have such a beautiful place, very very nice! What a treasure!
I'm happy to see that your Dad is still going with you, that he's active and still enjoying camp. That's wonderful.
Thanks for the pictures.
