We lost 2ndovc
I regret to inform you all that Jason fell very ill, and passed away in the hospital on January 6th. I had been communicating with him, but my last message in December had gone unanswered until today when his ex wife responded and gave me the news.

So sorry to hear this. God Speed sir.

Re: We lost 2ndovc
Jason and I were close friends on Facebook. A finer gentleman you couldn't find. Always a kind word or a funny joke. He was a "oner".
At the end I know that the family he valued and loved were his beloved dogs.
Evie was the new Cane Corso, and I'm sorry I don't recall the names of his other two little buddies. More than anything I hope they found good and loving homes.

Jason had endured a lot of health issues and was starting a new chapter in his life, so terrible news, prayers and God speed.

Re: We lost 2ndovc
Good grief ---
We PM'ed a number of times due to our very similar occupation (Independent insurance adjuster's)
We are both similar age (im 54 and i think Jason was 56? - something like that) and roughly at the same point in our careers (i consider myself "semi retired" )
Other similarities are we both have an affinity for 10mm 1911's that preceded the current 10mm trend
I'll miss his contributions here and am sad that i never got up to Ohio for a visit --- seemed like a solid dude.

This is heartbreaking. I enjoyed every one of Jason's posts, and even more our private exchanges. He was representative of the caliber of the folks here and why I look forward to any chance to stop and visit. He will be missed.
Prayers up my friend.

I did put a note in my "when I die" folder that has insurance information and all that sort of stuff, for my wife, that she should post here that I croaked.
Since I'm pretty anti-social in the traditional sense, this place is my 'hangout' - probably the equivalent of the Moose lodge or Lions club or even the local bar, for many guys.
At least when I 'visit' here I don't have to drive, don't need to drink, and don't even have to put pants on (....just had to leave you guys with THAT visual...
).
For whatever reason though - this really IS a collection of a fine bunch of folks, from so many places and walks of life, who share basic American values.
