For 444 Marlin and 38-55 Winchester fans ..

.
I learned a few things in this video. I pretty much always like his presentations.

Interesting the way he handles the various board diameters for the 38-55.

Thanks for sharing that video. I have the Winchester Big Bores in .375 Win and .444 Marlin as well as the Winchester Chief Crazy Horse in 38-55 and it is always good to soak up a little extra information about them.
I wondering which soft jacketed bullet he is using in the 38-55? I am guessing the Barnes Original. I have been hesitant to try jacketed in my Chief Crazy Horse because it slugs out at .3795 to .380. He claims his bullet (,377) works good.

Yes, interesting video: as an old 38/55 reloader I was interested that Buffalo Bore just threw up their hands and went to a small diameter jacketed bullet to accommodate the differing bore diameters. Us old bullet casters have to come at it from another direction and produce bullets pretty much sized for whichever rifle. Amongst my crew we have Winchesters at .378 and .379 and my Marlin at .381. And if you put a .381 bullet it anything other than Starline it probably won't chamber 'cause the necks are too thick.

The 38/55 has been (and remains) a challenge to my reloading abilities. I have still not got happy with how it shoots at 5 and 600 yards for our club competitions but it would be totally satisfactory to 200 yards with anything I have tried so far.
