The World ML Championships just ended at Raton. The US won in Hungary last time, so was the host this year. The US Team took 3 medals at the longest distances of 800, 900, and 1000 yds. The team didn't do well at close range of 300 yds., but did great at mid range!
My friend Steve Farringer took home 3 gold medals for long range, and tied Dave Gullo for 600 yds., but lost the tie breaker shoot off to get 2nd place silver medal. Overall Steve came home with 6 medals, plus 3 team medals for just his 2nd year of shooting muzzleloaders! He shoots a Ferris rifle built by Lee Shaver, USA Team Captain.
The winds were crazy for the week at around 35 mph swirling, which made it difficult for all the shooters!

I used to follow this, Vall. Glad Dave Gullo is still out there competing. Was that Hungarian rascal Balazs Nemeth there?

I wasn't there, so only know Steve was, and Dave Gullo. No mention of Lee Shaver, but betting he was also. Dave was at Byers just the week before shooting BPTR also, so he's still very actively competing.Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 7:26 pm I used to follow this, Vall.
