Winchester Rangers hitting shelves

Post by Pat C »

A number of people have purchased them recently from Cabelas at $389 plus this month 10% back rebate from Winchester. Several have had beautiful Turkish walnut.

Is that a 22 LR? Interesting, indeed. I'd not heard of them yet.

We had anouther thread , they are spin off of the 9422 except billet aluminum receiver. And made in Turkey. Announced at shot show in 2023 IIRC . But its taken them nearly two years to produce. Price is good for import and so far excellent reviews.

Receiver is hard coat anodized chromoly barrel Turkish walnut.

It's much more pleasing to the eye than the new Savage lever 22.
If I saw that hunk of fiddleback walnut in the store I'd be digging in my wallet! :D

Well, they are NATO partners, and it is possible a Christian is among the employees. The Turkish firearms industry has access to some lovely walnut.

Islam: The vast majority of Turks are Muslim, with Sunni Islam being the most common branch, particularly the Hanafi school of thought. Alevi Muslims, a minority religious community, also have a significant presence in Turkey.
Christianity: Historically, Anatolia (Turkey) was a predominantly Christian land. Today, small communities of Greek Orthodox, Armenian Apostolic, and Roman Catholic Christians exist, largely concentrated in major cities like Istanbul.
Judaism: Turkey's Jewish community has ancient roots and was strengthened by Sephardic Jews fleeing the Spanish Inquisition in the 15th century. This small but significant community is also mainly found in major urban centers.

I was looking forward to these 2+ years ago when they were announced. It looks like the nearest Cabelas is out of stock already, and Midway still shows them "overdue".

It appears to be a better looking gun than the Savage offering, so it's got that going for it.

That doesn't alter the evil pagan moon-god that they worship and the horror that they have visited on the World for more than 1400 years.

We have a few million over here that weren't invited and they have brought the stone age with them.

I'll be curious to see how the Rangers hold up long term. I haven't been impressed with most of the mid to lower priced Turkish made guns I've seen. The wood and metal are nice looking, but the quality is lacking with a lot of them.
