Early morning house clearing

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

I have this great burglar alarm. He’s an 11 pound monster who thinks he’s a lot bigger than.

I have a wife who is a crafter and Halloween is coming.

So at 2:30 this morning my dog goes full cry, and he sounds serious!

A roll of some kind of laminated sheet of black craft material on a plastic roll comes off the table next to her recliner and unrolls on the floor. Apparently it was strange enough to get his attention.

Gotta love that little critter. One day he might save our lives.

"Something's not right! Something's not right!" Hey, nothing gets past a good dog, even a weird craft project! Reminds me of the time Biscuit went on full alert over a pineapple on the kitchen counter. And as you say, he might well save your lives one day.

Wandering around the house in the early morning hours with a 12 gauge shotgun just to be sure. I still get to drag my knuckles occasionally.

My Parker would see something say on the counter and give it the 3rd degree. Once she realized it was OK she would walk away satisfied. Them if you moved the same object a half inch she would bark at it next time around. Would drive me nuts !

This is at least the second time on this forum that the image of Scott, in his underwear, with a gauge, has been conjured up. I find it fully as disturbing as the first time.

My Corso puppy Evie is a little over 9 months old now and about 70+ pounds or so. She’s starting to fill out like she should but when she gets a case of the Zoomies, the best thing to do is just stay out of the way.
When she gets up to go check out an unusual sound in the middle of the night she will stay absolutely silent until she figures out what it was. If she gives a bark or growl and wakes me and the little dogs to let me know something is up. Then she will stay between me and whatever she thinks may be a threat. When everything has been checked out, she climbs back onto the bed, but will still watch and listen at the bow window while I put the H&K back in the nightstand.
She’s getting to be a great dog!
