Trail Boss is BACK!
Hodgdon has open orders for the 9 oz canister of Trail Boss. I just ordered 2.
All I need now is some Unique and 2400.

At more than triple the price it was before. I love TB and I am glad its back. I am also glad I did not pay the absolutely crazy prices some people were getting for it when the market dried up.
I guess 45 per 9 oz is better than the crazy prices.

Be careful out there. I've come across all kinds of scams on powder and such. Not so much this year, but a couple years ago it was bad. Scammers are getting more and more sophisticated.ikocher wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 12:14 pmSeems too good to be true!765x53 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 10:51 amHere you go! https://www.precisionreloading.com/cart ... Re: Trail Boss is BACK!
I got some TB for $36 per 9oz the other day at Natchez. Unique and 2400 also dropped at a bunch of retailers the week before TB showed up. There are a few sites that still have Unique and 2400 in stock.
I think the days of the 5lb IMR container for TB are gone. It looks like just the 9oz and 2lb from Hodgdon now.

Re: Trail Boss is BACK!
Not to be negative here but I saw an ad last week for TB that was like in the $40 range but then you had to add the shipping and hazmart costs. That tallied up to $70+. Maybe when it hit local businesses the pricing will be better.
Now, I never have used TB because I shot BP for CAS shooting. After stopping my outdoors events, I had to go 'back' to smokeless for indoor ranges. That is when I had fun trying to determine safe loading for the large caliber cases... I have now noticed the impact TB would have on these calibers and have given some thoughts about using it. But still not at $70 for a bulky 9 ounces of powder filling a one pound powder container.
Just my perception.

I just got notifications from Brownell’s that both 2400 AND Unique are in inventory but WHOA BABY are they expensive.

I am bringing my comments back up, because I have seen a picture, posted on the SASS Wire, where the poster took a photo of a store rack where Trail Boss was priced at $39.99. Now that, was the difference I was referring to, above. For $40, I could justify the purchase and experimentation of this 'New' powder, as far as it is, to me.black river smith wrote: ↑Sat Sep 13, 2025 5:55 pm Not to be negative here but I saw an ad last week for TB that was like in the $40 range but then you had to add the shipping and hazmart costs. I also, saw the advertisement that ikocher may be referring to, of New Unique Powder and 2400. Don't remember what the 2400 was running. Unique was listed at $59.99 from supplier Midway. Don't know shipping and hazmat costs. I recently found that I have 3 unopened pounds of the old stuff, before it became extinct. Highest I ever bought it at was $29.99 in 2020. The older pound was from 2010 was $19.99.
I am glad to see that the manufacturers are at least coming back with it the old favorites, again.

Re: Trail Boss is BACK!
Trail Boss is in stock on the website for Sportsman's Warehouse for $42.99/jar. If you order it there, it ships to your nearest store for free with no Hazmat charge as well. After all is said and done, I think it's going to be cheaper than the normal online sites for reloading supplies.
