OFF TOPIC ---- READING

Post by JimT »

I am reading through the New Testament in the J. B. Phillips translation, "THE NEW TESTAMENT IN MODERN ENGLISH" (Revised Edition). I have read the New Testament through 'way beyond counting. I quit counting the times through 25 years ago. I began with the King James Version 60 years ago. I have read a large number of translations and really enjoy some more than others. While I have used the Phillips in the past I have never set down and read it through. I am changing that this month.

and

I am reading through "THE SHACK" by Wm. Paul Young again. Over the years I have read it 5 or 6 times at least. I always find something new and interesting in it.

That reminds me that I had started reading David Bentley Hart's translation and got sidetracked, which seems to be the current story of my life. :?
