TC buys GM barrels

Post by marlinman93 »

Thompson Contender has used Green Mountain barrels for their firearms, and just announced they bought GM and will keep it as an independent entity, and GM will continue with no changes. A good move for TC as they'll get barrels cheaper.

I've used several Green Mountain BPCR barrels over the years and liked them a lot. Glad TC is dragging its feet bringing back the Contender, though, 'cause I can't afford one!

I had mixed results from the oldFox River custom shop. The 1:48 .50 cal muzzleloader barrel is quite accurate on my Encore. The 338 Federal barrel I got was almost terrible accuracy wise. A buddy got a 270 Win barrel and it was more of a shotgun pattern than groups.
GM does make good barrels and TC made a good move buying them.
