...it's one thing to let yourself die because you don't like the idea of guns, or fighting back, but those two young girls could have been raped, mutilated and/or killed - it certainly happens fairly often. As it is, they will NEVER be whole again, or feel safe again, after seeing both their parents, who are their steady rock and strongest protectors, murdered right in front of them.

I don't say that to pick on the parents (and perhaps they were armed, but just didn't "win"), but our society has done too much harm by making the whole concept of using firearms for protecting innocent life some kind of thing to be secretive and ashamed of, which has the effect of making those who didn't grow up around firearms tend to underestimate their usefulness and just hope they won't be needed.

Oh and by the way, make it a "High Capacity" handgun if possible - because sometimes it happens like this...

Hey Feller, 100% in agreement with you!! Owning a gun don't make you safe any more than owning a guitar makes you Roy Clark IF you can't reach it! At 80 I can't run and I can't fight so that leaves me with cutting or shooting. Got a little sign on the wall of my shop to look at when I need to run to town in a hurry...it says " Lord, please don't let my last thought be, IF I ONLY HAD MY GUN". I see that sign and always check my pocket... John
