BSA Martini .22, Heavy-barreled Model 13

Post by Old No7 »

Well, here's my late father's favorite rifle and one that I treasure deeply.

The standard Model 13 BSA Martini had a 25" barrel that was 9/16" at the muzzle, and this one has a heavier barrel -- which was an option -- as it is 12/16" or 3/4". With the extra weight, it holds really well for a small rifle, especially with the simple palm rest that I added. And the nice sights and great trigger are helpful too.

I included the toes of my slippers for Ysabel Kid's benefit, as he and JReed always used to do that on their images.

Anyway, this blurred image shows you what the bore looked like when I inherited it... (Despite many attempts to clean the bore!)

But after getting it, I sent it off to John Taylor in WA and his shop relined it with a match chamber and now she shoots great again.

Only problem is.....................

Now I have to put it away for SEVEN MONTHS due to upcoming rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder due to a bad fall...

Ouch............... This sucks............

I'll have to check back for the pictures. The website isn't working again for me... :(

She is a beauty, Darryl. Love the palm rest. The BSA Martinis just ooze class and character -- and John Taylor does wonderful work. 8)
Very, very sorry to hear about that fall and the upcoming surgery!
