Funny, I almost never see one anymore, but back when I was going to college in the early 1970s, Irish setters with cloth bandanas for collars were simply everywhere -- like Volkswagen Beetles.

Gotta love Gary Larson!
That's a breed I've always loved, Gordon Setters too. Too much hair though, 3 labradors makes the vacuum choke!
Guy in our club has one, it doesn't like people but he hunts ! It seems the Irish has become more show dog and the field bred dogs are called a Red Setter.

Although I know I've mellowed with the onset of grey (white) hair, I used to resemble that remark. My wife used to think I was too volatile for LEO work. Then she came to understand that the calmer I seemed, the angrier I was. Image
