...is that no matter how awful and illegal and unconstitutional the actions of these individuals are, DEMOCRATS SEE NO PROBLEM with it, because they believe "the ends justify the means" - that is their core philosophy, and makes any legal or moral considerations irrelevant.

Until the Republicans can grasp that fact, they keep assuming that somehow once the 'masses' become aware of the heinous actions on the part of these Democrats, they will rise up and demand political reform. Well, the 'masses' will do nothing of the sort, to the extent that so many are Democrats - they see no problem with lying, censorship, violence, or outright treason - it's "OK" if done for a good reason - and a 'good reason' is anything that harms Trump or his supporters or any other 'deplorable' types.

None of this means Gabbard isn't doing a good job, and that she shouldn't go for the jugular (...AND that the others in the Trump administration need to have the spine and gonads to support her AGGRESSIVELY and IMMEDIATELY...). Sadly the reality is that even if Obama murdered a thousand women and children with a thousand witnesses, even just arresting him would lead to burning and looting of every Walmart in the nation within 24 hours (ironically due in large part to the racism HE flared up during his divisive term in office).

It just means don't hold your breath waiting for your 'progressive' Democrat friends or relatives to somehow realize they've been duped for decades by the Democrat Party, as it flipped completely from the party of the 'working class' to the party of the 'wealthy elite', doing everything it can to lock in a permanent wealthy and poor class system, destroying the crucial middle-class (which always leads to economic desparation, and demands for socialism, which is the exact wrong thing to do). As Samuel Clements famously observed - it is very easy to fool even the smartest people, but nearly impossible to get them to admit later that they were fooled, no matter how concrete the proof.

Having said all that pessimistic stuff - I have to admit I am enjoying the media have to contort and squirm to try to avoid or dismiss Obama's role in Russiagate.

As much as it would be SO SATISYING seeing Obama and Clinton frog-walked into the slammer, it is not going to happen. Yes, they both deserve it, but despite the great work of Gabbard and others, the establishment will simply never allow it.

I must say that THIS podcast I listened to while driving to work today was VERY informative as to putting not only the Obama/Russiagate stuff into perspective, but wrapping it up in the bundle of so many events from Epstein all the way back to MK-Ultra and Air America and even before that.

If we don't fix things soon, politically AND economically, the resulting destruction of the middle class will lead to such a rift between the entrenched-poor and entrenched-wealthy, that it will be used to usher in further socialism, because so many of the younger generations are feeling 'stuck' - in large part due to the apathy and/or selfishness of some of us Boomers - and these young folks are starting to see the only way 'out' for them is to abandon the free market capitalism and constitutional republic that it stabilizes.

It is well-established that self-identified 'liberals' and 'progressives' ALSO self-report a much higher incidence of mental illness, particularly anxiety and depression. Perhaps they are just all so much more 'honest' than all us anxious and depressed conservatives and libertarians, but another very likely explanation is that when one is a 'liberal' either one is an ignorant liberal or an intelligent liberal.

If one is an ignorant liberal, then they are usually just happily accepting of whatever largesse the plantation-owners have sent their way to earn their vote.

If one is an intelligent liberal, then the degree of cognitive dissonance needed to survive is so great that it will inevitably cause great stress, manifesting as anxiety or depression. That's because 'liberalism' is inconsistent with even the most basic science, mathematics, history, economics, or even logic. Add to that the incompatability of the liberal's virtue-signaling and materialism and selfish, short-sighted view of public policy, versus any of the reasonable (non-violent) religious faiths, and no wonder 'liberals' are typically so much more likely to suffer from depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

I guess you can't blame them - it is a function of low-responsibility upbringing, distorted 'education', and the use of material success as the metric of life success, instead of any moral achievements.

But it is still irritating, because the ignorance of the self-righteous 'liberals' winds up destroying lives and livelihoods, and even gets to the point of the occasional famine or genocide. Those things are hard to ignore or forgive.
