It's a wonderfully versatile cartridge, and can be loaded from oooh to ouch.
My favorite utility load was the Lee 340 over about 15 grains of Unique.

I have two 45-70's . A Marlin for Deer Hunting and an 86/71 to use for weight training. It's good to know It will take anything in Ohio including the Zoo.
