1876 Centennial

I can't remember if I asked this here before. I have a stripped 1876 WRA frame which I bought to built a shooter.
Wondering if any of the major parts from Uberti will work?
Bolt, links,sideplates,hammer ?

I was planning on making most parts but I just don't have time it never seems.

There was some info on Cass city but it wasn't that specific.

I have had a couple of the Ubertis over the years and still long for a .45-75.

I've read most posts there and are of help but really need somebody that has both rifles and good set of calipers to do a pictorial. I can buy original parts but very pricey and most not in good shape. Uberti parts are cheap and better metallurgy.

If Turnbull restorations is still in business, might ask them , as I read somewhere they used to get a lot of parts from Uberti.

Just to whet your appetite, here’s an original 100% 1876, made in 76, shipped feb 1877, in 45/75. It’s a 3 digit serial number in XLNT condition, 26” Octagon with set trigger. The early version did Not have the brass dust cover. If you need help forming brass I’ve made jugs to cut down brass from 3 parent cases, although new Starline 50 Alaskan is by far the best if you can’t find original. Model is our own SIXSHOT, holding a Rifle, of all things.

Nice one, I bought the old parted out frame several years back to build a custom shooter. Originally planed on making some of the harder to find parts like bolt ,links, barrel.
I found blue prints at Cody but I just don't have time . Might be a later on project. The goal was to stay at reproduction cost or below.

Most of the original parts are in bad shape.

Pat, You could contact our member "Coyote Nose" . I believe He is a retired machinist and He has built and repaired many classic Guns including a '76 in 45-60. I had some dealings with Him several years ago . He may be able to help. Keep us informed. .

All I have is a bare 1883 frame with screws and a broken lever.
Originally I thought I could use cheap Italian parts at time. And would build a lower cost shooter.

Original parts are out there but pricey and most worn very bad.

Making any of the parts is no problem , I've been a machinist for over 38 years. And done gunsmithing most of that time.

The blueprints for most parts are at Cody McKraken library.

But your talking an enormous amount of time to scratch make everything. Even just major parts.
Don't have time right now that's why I asked about Uberti parts.

It appears most UBERTI won't work with Winchester frame.
Chapparel is long gone and so are the parts.
