I received a JB Marlin 336TS 30-30 with a 16in Barrel from my former Company Commander ( Our CO was a Colonel and we had been together on a few continents). I was with him when he bought it in Kalifornia in 2009 (we were working as contractors for JIEDO) to use as his Kalifornia Legal assault rifle, as we both had to leave our autoloaders at home before the transfer (Me from Afghanistan, him from the East Coast). When he bought it, I told him if he ever wanted to sell it, let me know. Last month, he decided he no longer needed it and sold it to me. After all was done with shipping, it arrived at a local FFL in AZ for me to pick up. I only have one other Marlin trapper in .44 Mag that I have used often over the years. When I retired in 2004 from active duty, he gave me a Para FN as a retirement present.

Oh I like that Trapper. I think it does need a leather sling though. Very nice!
What make of dot sighting device does it have on it?

What a great pair of carbines!
People were smarter before the Internet, or imbeciles were harder to notice.

Very nice! Love the straight grip. I wish Marlin made more of them.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Very cool!
I had to reread your sentence with "when he bought it in Kalifornia"... I thought he died there!
