What's your percentage?
Thought I'd start a fun poll of sorts. Who are the die hard levergun fans. I was just realizing that I have very few non levergun rifles.
What percentage of your rifles are leverguns?
I think the fair criteria would be to only count centerfire and/or rimfire rifles and to not include shotguns or muzzle loaders in the calculation as those are rarely lever action.
My overall percent is 75% for centerfire and rimfire rifles combined. Separated out, rimfires are 50% and centerfires are 86% leverguns.

Re: What's your percentage?
Like you, 50% of my rimfire rifles are lever actions, however, only 64% of my centerfires are lever actions.

Re: What's your percentage?
Currently about 20 percent: One Uberti 1873 in .44 WCF of course! The others: Winchester Model 75 bolt, .22, CZ .223 bolt, 1903 Springfield in honor of my Dad, and a very old Remington Model 8, .25 Remington.
Re: What's your percentage?
.
Slightly over half of my rifles are leverguns, then in descending order, semiautos (including a bunch of 10/22's each destined for each one of the kids and grandkids), bolt actions, and a couple single-shots.
Handguns are about 50% revolvers and 50% semiautos.

Re: What's your percentage?
I couldn't even begin to get an accurate count on rifles without spending a day or two doing inventory, so my best effort would be a pure and simple guess.
Ironically enough, shotguns are easier, simply because I don't have as many: out of 21 that readily come to mind, 3 are lever actions.

Exactly 1/3 of my long guns are leverguns.

Re: What's your percentage?
I only have 5 long arms and 3 are levers so thats 3/5. One is a 223 bolt action I am holding for my brother so I'll be back to 3/4 shortly.

Re: What's your percentage?
Centerfire rifles:
Bolt actions: 2,
Semi-auto: 1,
Pump action: 1,
Single shot: 2
Leverguns: 39
So, just a hair under 85% are leverguns. But, the only the bolt actions & semi auto are 20th century designs... which raises the number to over 92% pre 20th century designs.
Handguns are a bit more evenly matched. 11 cap & ball revolvers, 6 Colt SAAs & clones, 7 1911 pattern semi-autos and 1 S & W revolver.

Re: What's your percentage?
I guess it depends on whether we're talking lever action repeaters, or just rifles that use a lever to open the action?
I've got probably 4 or 5 lever action Marlin repeaters, but I've got several dozen Marlin Ballard single shot rifles that operate with a lever. And a half dozen Remington Hepburns that operate with a side lever. Also one Gove conversion Rolling Block that has Gove's underlever conversion.

Re: What's your percentage?
Looks like we have a winner!

Looks like we are all over the map! and it's cool we have members with just a few guns all the way to too many to count apparently!!!

I'd say they count as long as they "identify" as leverguns right? I'm all about being inclusivemarlinman93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 9:28 am I guess it depends on whether we're talking lever action repeaters, or just rifles that use a lever to open the action?

Re: What's your percentage?
Griff, you are my HERO. I think I am running 30% all my leverguns are for hunting or play. A few Bolt guns, long range, or former military. All of my work guns, except 2 Bolt guns, are semi-auto. Not counting shotguns.
It is not the critic who counts

Re: What's your percentage?
14.3% levers, but that makes 12 (only one 9422) but those are what I grab to hit the brush. I can only remember two occasions since 1974 when I used anything else for deer or hogs and such ( other than bird guns). Usually a BLR or a Browning 1895.
