This fellow was just taking his sweet time on a warm afternoon with no water in sight. I paused along side him and we both agreed we needed rain in this section. Dripping Springs near Baylor Canyon Road, Organ Mountains National Monument, Las Cruces.

Will, we actually got .05 inches last Sunday from a passing T-storm -- most in months.

Looks like rain in Raton. That's good for the upcoming week. The Good Lord willing I will be pulling into Raton Sunday afternoon/evening.

That doesn't amount to squat there Bill BUT that's better than 2" at once in your neck of the woods!
Ah, Raton- I remember it fondly! Jim if you get a chance to run to Trinidad try to get a tour of the gunsmithing department. Then check and see if Lee's BBQ is still in business. Man I miss their open face bacon double cheese burger smothered in green chili with a vanilla Dr Pepper!
Oh and don't forget Emily's Truckstop, good food there too!

Gunny, my motorcycle riding buddy and I go out every week to find the best green chile cheeseburger in the state. We have covered a lot of ground, found some wonderful burgers but we're nowhere close to quitting.

The green chili is by Stokes, it's available on Amazon and I treat myself to a few cans per year.
