Nothing better.
We have been in a terrible drought for several years here in Texas.
But this week we have had almost four inches of rain. (Thank you Father!).
I’m sitting out on the porch listening to the music of the rain coming down on this steel roof.
My coffee is warm and my dog is on the alert. Hard to beat this.
Happy Friday!

Re: Nothing better.
Scott, rain is truly such a blessing when it is desperately needed. Glad you got a good rinse.
We are in mega-drought here in south-central New Mexico. Elephant Butte Reservoir on the Rio Grande --the largest in the state -- is at 12.8 percent of capacity, and they just started the main spill for irrigation.

I wish I could send some your way Bill. We have had more than our share. I would like to cut and bale some hay but it is still too wet with more on the way.

Thanks JB. They have been cutting hay here for weeks. In the middle of such a drought it is always a bit disconcerting to see acre after acre of pecan orchards being flood irrigated. But it is heartening to see the cotton and chile pepper crops thriving.

Here along Lake Erie We had a real old fashioned winter this year and so far this spring have had around 12" of rain. a lot of the fields haven't been planted yet. I wish I could send some rain to You Guys who need it. the mosquitos are horrible and about the best time to be outside is on the lawn mower.

Glad you got some rain!
It's rained 12 weekends in a row here and been beautiful all week. That's ok, I only work Friday through Sunday.

Last year they said the drought was over but it would take a few years for the aquafer to restore itself. Well, this year down south here we really didn't have much rain. But on the plus side the snow pack was good. Still I expect to hear the cry of DROUGHT and time now.
Enjoy the rain. As long as it comes steady and on the slow side you're good to go.

Re: Nothing better.
Like OldWin said, it's rained almost every weekend here too. Last night another 1.83" by my rain gauge. More to come this morning as well.
Our lakes are full, but they screw around with the reservoirs constantly, lowering to almost empty some years.
The earthquake last April caused some wells to go dry, aquifers apparently shifted in the quake so all the rain we have been getting is much needed to refill.
On the other hand all the rain has kept me from getting the farm weed spraying started.

Glad you got some much needed rain. We had some flooding earlier this year. Still water standing in some areas.
