Restoring a German Luger - glad to see a chunk of junk brought back (sort of) to life.

Looks like lots of parts had to be rebuilt from sheet metal though.

Now THIS one I'd shoot - (Diana Air Pistol restoration)...

A buddy of mine had a P38 that survived a structure fire. We didn't trust it for shooting not knowing if the heat treatment had changed it in any way.

I fell into the chance to get one of the Mauser "new production" (I think I might be dating myself; it's got Interarms markings and they've been defunct for how long?) ones awhile back. Appeared unfired when I got it. I remember these being spendy by the standards of the day in Gun Digest back when they were being made, but it was a fair amount less than a ratty "real" one at the time of purchase.

It doesn't have history. Which I don't mind. I can shoot the daylights out of it and not have to worry about it's possible past abuse or about ruining something that has any particular significance.
