Quentin took a couple of days off and we headed out Thursday AM. It was Evie's first long ride in the truck and first trip anywhere. She did great and at not even six months old, she is fearless and had become very protective of her Pack. It was also her first experience with an open fireplace. She walked over, sniffed around and went back to her doggie bed.

We had a narrow miss over the winter. High winds, cold and snow brought down a 30' long branch from the giant hemlock behind the cabin. Had the wind been blowing from another direction, the 100 year old shack would have been crushed.
Didn't get much shooting in until Sunday morning, finally stopped raining, mostly. Quentin burnt up a few hundred .22s that were getting old. Not a single misfire out of a box of Remington Thunderbolts that was probably 20 years old.
Shot the new Colt Delta. First shot ever, nailed a 1/2 gal. water bottle dead center at 50' of so. The 180 grain Hornady JHP was quite impressive and ripped that jug in half. The look on Quint's face was priceless. All he said was, Wow!
Best place I know to go hide from the world for a few days. Phones don't work, no TV, computers, annoying clients and jerk supervisors. Heat and indoor plumbing. The solar generator I bought served as a great power bank for recharging lights, etc. We went completely wireless for four days with rechargeables. Didn't even bother getting the panels out, no sun the entire time. One of those solar power drawbacks that Brandon failed to tell the general public while selling his lies.
