If we get enough guys together I got a company on the hook willing to R&D a bullet compatible w the Browning Model 71's (short throat)
Key requirements on my list:
150-160ish gr LIGHT FOR CALIBER OPTION
220gr GOLD STANDARD weight (my opinion)
Monolithic
Deep crimp groove; w no bullet setback design
Were talking a dream bullet here guys.
I'd really like to get a count on how many guys would be serious about buying these if we could prove em out, prove they are worth stocking up on.
I sure would be tickled to have a stash of 348 bullets that don't setback in my cases.
348 options these days are on the cusp of unobtanium.

Re: Browning 348 Shooters BULLET OPTION AT LAST Mono Prospect
Have you tested the Fury bullets (220gr) in your Browning? I've only run them in my Winchester. I don't have any loaded at the moment or I would cycle a couple through. They might have too much ogive for the Browning. Just curious.

Re: Browning 348 Shooters BULLET OPTION AT LAST Mono Prospect
I have NOT tested FURY
But was interested
Was turned off by conventional crimp groove.
My experience I need something better....deeper....stronger, to prevent setback
Company owner, told me try them no setback probs. I think he was willing to improve the groove as well, I can't recall details there but he seemed nice enough, willing to do business, work together.
To me they ain't no different then a Barnes Original; regarding crimp-ability
The Furys are bonded which is cool.

Are you thinking more like the groove that Swift uses on their A-frames? Not a knurled cannelure, rather a full recessed groove.

Use the Lee FCD and your bullets won't move. They don't move in the .450 Alaskan or Fuller using the FCD . .450Fuller highly recommends the Lee FCD's use.

I do use the LEE Factory Crimp Die
I still observe setback from time to time.
