I stumbled on this campaign of Trans World Radio, where they are providing wind-up radios to countries in Africa that have strong radio presence. Each radio broadcasts the gospel in the local language of the station location.
.
This is a simple way to spread the Goodest News where I will never go.

.
the donation page is at > www.africaneedsjesus.org and there is a short video that demonstrates the concept, and on the web site there is full disclosure of the work of Trans World Radio that you can check out.
.
AND IT'S CHEAP. The radios are only $50 dollars each !!! Even I can afford to give one. That covers the cost of shipping to a country in Africa, paying customs duty, and distribution costs in country. The results are in God's hands, as are we all . . .

I had some friends that I met in Mozambique. They had a radio station in Northern Mozambique that broadcast the gospel. They gave away free radios that did not change stations. It only received their station. They broadcast the Gospel using a program called Jesus in the Quran. Where they were was nearly 100% Muslim. Neat folks from Switzerland.
This is most interesting. I remember from way back hearing references to t.w.r. programs and projects. Internet searching their history and personal reviews and testimonies nets no evidence of exorbitant salaries & the like.
We have been long supporters of samaritan's purse but mister g's reported salary of $975,000 along with dozens of his clan on the payroll kind of dampens the joy part of joyful giving. Likewise I found a very simple, common sensefull and effective charity https://godspitcrew.org/https://godspitcrew.org/blessingbuckets/ where you buy individual survival rations/supplies in ergonomic square sided buckets but they seem to be localized to the carolinas hurricane disaster areas. As for the california conflagrations, (only a few affected were celeb.millionaires) the so called red cross was the only way to give due to that state's anti religious statutes. Of course, you can never go wrong with coin & greenbacks in the offering plate on Sunday morning.
Thanks for the heads-up.....and note that on t.w.r. site that there are scores of other giving opportunities along with the african radios. For some reason that I don't understand, the dark, suicidal prone places like japan and north korea and the former iron curtain countries kind of sort of tugs at my sentiments.

That's good stuff. Did you cross trails with Trans World Radio? I thought i recalled hearing them on VOA maybe? Does that ring a bell? Radio is good, it crosses borders and state lines . . . i wonder if we could smuggle radios into Missouri . . . send in some Truth pills .. . Or the "District" for that matter

Hey Ray,

I have family in Jp involved in ministry outreach. It's like a zombie zone of dead blind ancestor worship . . . but we love 'em anyway . . .
Thanks Ray, this is good stuff right here. They are audited and i believe their expense dispersion. IF ONLY THE US DOT GOV could be so transparent and open to scrutiny. O Well, after Christ touches down on Mount Olive it will be so.
.
I'd suggest they send in buckets of rice and beans too, because that will keep someone alive AND kicking for a year . . . And perhaps transplant some chickens into the tough zone. Put a tractor coop in the center while cleaning up on the streets.

No sir, I never did. However, I never had a radio or tv during the years we lived in Mozambique. Heck .. the first few months there we had no internet because someone had stolen 15 kilometers of the undersea cable! Seriously. And when we had internet it was always on again off again just like the electricity. Only the last year and a half did we have almost decent internet. A Vietnamese company came in and strung fiber optic line around the main areas of the Province and that worked nicely.
Jim, do you know of anyone using Starlink internet over there? We have decent internet here but the Starlink kits are sold by at least three major retailers here in town. They're a big item for folks living outside of the main connection areas of the city. My understanding is that as long as you've got electricity to run it you should be able to have decent internet - pretty much anywhere. But that's just the rumor, don´t know first hand.

No sir I do not. But when I was there, some folks and some of the wealthier businesses had satellite internet. I don't know who the provider was.
