Plowboy got himself a good one with that one. Should get any critter in north america to re-think its life decisions on attacking him.

Can't help but wonder how that'd work through the 40th Anniversary Marlins.

That ought to go nose to tail through a really big bear. Not sure I'd want to shoot up a box at one sitting. 8)

I think it will chamber and shoot fine. But we would probably need to modify the mechanism a little to get it to feed. Not much though and Mic’s book shows exactly how.

I have used that mod on a Marlin 30-30 and it was easy to do.

We used it on a 94 in .357 to allow me to seat a 180 grain XTP in the bottom groove. We loaded the ammo pretty hot with a compressed charge of LilGun

Very impressive load. Milk jugs are 10" deep multiply by 14 for 140" ( or 11 ft 8" ) of penetration is nothing to sneeze at ! Certainly go through your average run of the mill critter up to pachyderms.
I'd like to see those big heavy 41s he mentioned.

That would be interesting to try, the heaviest I've shot was a 330 Gould sized down to .452 launched at about 1100. No idea of the penetration but I doubt it was like that stomper.

I clocked my deer killer load this weekend and that 270SAA is going a little over 930 fps.

No barn burner but it seems to be plenty.

Scott, your 270SAA load is more like it for what I would need. No Alaska trips on the calendar for the foreseeable future.

I’m pretty sure it would serve well even in Alaska.

Particularly since a man can probably shoot it better.

I don't have any rifles that small in my locker in Alaska, even though they all are .45 caliber. The only pistols are a 10mm and a .22.

A suppressed 22 Ruger pistol or other for killing dinner when hunting big game.

I bought this one at Wild West Arms after I wore out a Sig Mosquito

I enjoyed that video. I had no idea you could get a bullet that heavy for a 45 LC

Sounds like a good plan. No pun intended.

I thought the 300 LBT's in my bird's head gun were heavies. I stand corrected.

I don’t think I need that much horsepower for anything around here, but it was interesting nonetheless.

Big, heavy slugs at moderate velocities do very good things.
