Fairly recently, I still got quite a few Speer bullets I bought in the 70's . They still shoot the same . Got a couple of boxes of the Carcano bullets that they were still making then also.

I miss those, especially the 240 gr. It was only in the last 10-15 years that I discovered they were discontinued when I went to restock after shooting up the last of my stash.

I've heard that someone was considering tooling up for them also, cross your fingers.

I had such good luck with these in both 38 and 44 caliber. I don't know if they were made in 41 but I sure could use some now!

I have some of the old Speer half jacket 220 gr 41's that are unopened. I just opened one of them up and loaded them the other day.

Scott, I shot those out of my first 44 Marlin 1894 I bought around 1973. They shot great, about 2 inch groups at 100 yards with irons. I thought they would be like a Nosler partition blowing the front half off and driving through. never recovered one. I am shooting the NOE 250 Ranchdog style now that I'm retired, jacketed bullets are rich for SS folks.

These were a gift from a friend that was going through his deceased father’s traps. I haven’t used these in years but they were very accurate in the .44 Mag/Spl.

I think you can push them too slow and blow the core out. And that might be why they were discontinued. But if you shoot them at normal velocity they shoot very well.

I've got 32 rounds remaining of the 240's loaded over 12.5 of HS6 - there were 44 still loaded out of a box of 50 but I ran a dozen through the OM Flattop last Friday morning. They still go where they're supposed to.
