Parker has had a lump on her left shoulder since 23. Vet has been aware of it. Last week it grew by a lot. I more or less know what is 'good' versus a 'bad' lump. This was completely different feeling like it was liquid.
So the vet saw us today, she tried to drain it with a needle, nada. Large bore needle got a little fluid. So she got a 15 scaple blade and opened it up. Old Faithful!!! The more she squeezed the more came out. It was dark but clear liquid with whitish granular looking stuff in it.
A look under the microscope revealed no suspicious cells, some white blood cells though. So 10 days of antibiotics and a HUGE weight lifter off my shoulders. Parker got lots of cookies from the vet tech!
Whew- that's a relief!!

Glad to hear that you and Parker got good news....

Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.

Never met Parker, but having and loving dogs(both rescues and my working boys) I know the feeling of elation to find out it’s a cyst!
Long life to you and Parker!

labs are notorious for cysts, my grandpuppy darla dixie bell had one on her hip, they had to remove it surgically, all good now.

Re: Whew- that's a relief!!
Good news.
Seems like every dog I've had has had one lump or another. Jackson, my Rat Terrier had to have a big one removed about a year ago. It popped up really quickly and was affecting how he walked. No sign of it returning though even though he'd 13 now, he hasn't slowed down.
On a sad note, we ( my ex and Quentin) had to put our Jack Russel down last night. Quentin brought her out last weekend and she wouldn't eat at all and very little water. I insisted that his mother take her to the vet, knowing it wouldn't be good news. Kidney and liver failure.
She was almost 16 and one of the smartest dogs I've ever had. Quentin is sad, but doesn't show a lot of emotion due to his disabilities.
It will all come out at once. When he's ready. She was his best little friend and followed him everywhere.
We're all going to miss her.

Sorry to hear that Jason. Im sure Quentin never forget her.
My JRT was 15 or so, being an epileptic the phenobarbital destroyed his organs. I really miss having a JRT around- I don't have enough time to wage war against the chipmunks!
