overtly spiritual content because TRUTH matters

or, how eschatology illuminates theology.
or, we can't have one without the other.
AND, we are taught to fact-check, test, and benchmark ourselves by Jesus . . .
HE is the measure of our progress of the process.

as an aid to understand how the minutia fit into the big picture i am linking a radio broadcast that explains eschatology in theology, in plain english.

https://rumble.com/v6kla3v-peace-and-se ... rtion.html

this guy gets it, and explains it in plain simple language.

[sidebar]Daniel, an Israeli captive in Babylon, around 600 BC, was informed by an Angel of the LORD, named Gabriel, of the exact date that Jesus would present Himself as Israel's King and Savior, riding into Jerusalem on a donkey... beginning around Daniel 8_15. This is what prophecy is for, as explained by Christ Himself in Luke 24_25-27, Zechariah 9_9
.
[/sidebar]
.
.again, this is 600 years before Jesus' birth. It's supernatural. it's why we can take God at His Word :)

. . . I recommend reading scripture thru in chronological order . . . it paints these pictures in living color . . . this is how prophecy is the connective tissue between and among those days and these days. Daniel read the scripture that said Israel's captivity in Babylon would last 70 years, and he began fasting and praying this back to God for wisdom and understanding, and Gabriel answered. We can pray the same way as we see the 'end times' unfolding . . .

When I first read parts of the Bible as a child I was fascinated by the stories. I've always loved history and let's face it, the Bible stories are history stories. The language was a bit tough at first but one learns.

Later I learned that every story was a lesson. Lessons on literally every facet of life. I didn't always understand the lesson (often due to lack of context). But lessons they were.

Now I am not one who can quote chapter and verse. That's just memorization and that doesn't mean you actually learned the lesson being taught.

Probably the best lesson to start with is The Ten Commandments. The story of its coming to be is pretty fascinating to a kid. But, looking past the story to the Commandments themselves you find a diagram for a good life.

Remembering that people aren't perfect, nor I suppose they ever will be. The second great lesson is forgiveness. And not just God's but our own, as well.

God knows I have violated those Commitments from time to time. Sometimes quite severely. But I pray I will be forgiven. Again by both God and man.

"*** that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof." Joshua 23:14

I read this just couple mornings ago, was on this very subject then. But our Preacher-Teacher has often said the number of Prohecies of Jesus coming in the Old Testamenf, of which I forget the number? 300+ but would rather think 500+?
But not one Phrophecy has failed to be fulfilled on any subject, for that matter, good Bible teachers cam explain most to understanding!
God never fails to fulfill his word to the letter, and to a believer he gives insight to how true this is, even wants us to challenge his word in our lives! (Not tempting or trying God in vain)! Challenges proved is faith grown! More love towards the true God!
Thanks Grizz, good words!

I read and re-read a big illustrated kids version of the bible growing up. It was as big as one of those old atlas of the world, or seemed to me at the time. Loved the old testament stories, can still recall many of the illustrations. Have tried to remember enough details to find it online over the years but no luck.

But I pray I will be forgiven. Again by both God and man. amen. remember the song blessed assurance? this assurance is that we know we are forgiven when we trust Christ, it's because He is God, and God can't lie . . .

thanks for the mention of fulfilled prophecy, it is something like 300+ concerning Jesus, and some larger number yet to be fulfilled. and it is God's certificate of authenticity. When Thomas saw the wounds in Jesus' hands and feet and side he worshiped and said, "my LORD and my GOD".

Thanks for the memories. Isn't it amazing how those stories stuck with us for so long? And how patiently He waited for us, well for me, He waited a long time for me . . .

.
this is where you can access all the online library, and it is the interlinear tab that opens the view above . . .
.
another feature of Blueletterbible.org is the ability to retrieve multiple verses into one page. as a random example, i'm going to look at some "3:16s" in the new testament.
Mathew 3:16; Mark 3:16; Luke 3:16; John 3:16; Acts 3:16,Romans 3:16,Galatians 3:16,Ephesians 3:16,James 3:16,1John 3:16; 1Tim 3:16; 2Tim 3:16; Jam 3:16; Rev 3:16
etc. Spelling and punctuation are important. If you put this search into the Multi-Verse Retrieval box you will have a page of those verses. Sometimes fun, but not a good idea . . .

BECAUSE >>>
.
Pastor Mac's first lesson, "a fresh believer wanted to know God's will for his life, so he flipped thru the Book with his eyes closed and his pointer finger landed in Mathew. He repeated his study technique and got to the verse in Luke." Pastor Mac said, "DO NOT DO THIS" and started me off on the trail i'm on.

.
this is my first lesson in correctly studying scripture ^^^
.
there actually are incorrect ways to go about this, and every cult flushed itself down that hole. . .
.
enjoy,

The Advent of Christ and his Church is prophesied throughout the Old Testament. As I learned in my grade school catechism classes from Schuster's "Bible History".
