This is disturbing about USCCA…
.
Obviously, I am inclined to do some investigation on my own, but it sounds like maybe there’s some better options…

USCCA has been very expensive.

I dropped my USCCA coverage last year. Found out that they would not cover me when I work security for my church, even though I am unpaid/a volunteer (albeit a licensed one, to comply with SC law). Have been meaning to sign up with TX Law Shield, but keep forgetting!

Most people don't read insurance contracts -- and that's what I knew this was the first time I read their literature. Not only is it an insurance policy, it is a very restricted one. Essentially, what it boils down to is -- if you get charged, they won't pay.
Here's news -- if you're NOT charged, you don't need 'em.

I was a member for a while. They sent me so much stuff that I told them it was just too much trouble.
I think it’s a good idea to have some coverage but I’m not sure who does this right.

It is not simply their non-representation of clients that has me concerned. I am thoroughly annoyed that USCCA charged an American Express card, after I specifically told them to clear that card from being a saved payment method, and told them NOT to auto-renew. (I had planned to use a separate type of payment, to renew.) I felt stupid for not catching it, until some time had passed, so, let it slide. When we are up for renewal again, this year, I plan to consult American Express, to PREVENT the auto-renewal, even if it means temporarily suspending that specific account during that time.
The FIRST and MAIN thing I need from a service like USCCA is for bail to be posted ASAP. When I signed-up for USCCA, that was the service that sold me on the concept. Now that it surely seems that USCCA is unreliable, in this regard, I need to find other arrangements. As a retired police officer, with a VERY rare and recognizable surname, whose right hand, arm, and shoulder are not aging well, a jail or lock-up is a VERY risky place to be.

I use CCW SAFE. They have several plans available.
I just noticed they have a House of Worship Volunteer Plan.
https://ccwsafe.com/product/vst/
I will also add that you get locked in at the rate of your initial membership provided you do not miss a renewal. I still pay $149 a year.

Re: This is disturbing about USCCA…
I did not attend their stop the bleed class I mentioned in an earlier response as it was a little too far away to drive -
But attended a basic home defense/situational awareness class lecture format last night
I liked the contract instructor (a well-known local guy ) And he brought up some good talking points on fortify the house (Lights, alarms, Fortifying strike plates on doors etc., )
The USCCA rep was there And spent about 10 minutes going over their plans, Membership benefits, etc.
And reminded me of a timeshare sales pitch, but Was to be expected with a free class
I have to do a little more research before signing up for $300 a year program - That cost does not seem excessive but I also like that CCWSafe seems to be based out of my home state although that may not matter much
A lot of the other spiffs (Industry discounts, and things Just seem like window dressing- many of us former .gov, .mil and LEO are bombarded with these things daily —- they wind up in my “promotions” email inbox )
The jury is still out for me (no pun intended) - But I was a little put off About the sales rep Cautioning us that there would be a price increase in February and if we sign up now we could get in under the radar
