VA late antlerless season !

Post by 6pt-sika »

Buck season ended Saturday , now we have late antlerless u to March 30th which is kind of an oxymoron since a god many of the bucks will drop antlers during this season and are then perfectly legal So todays the second day of antlerless and since we have white stuff I’m out .

Good Luck. It snowed the second day of the season in WV, which made it a lot easier (except for the waiting).

I had wanted to do the first three days of the WV gun season again this past season on my cousins place close to Elkins but I wasn’t able to go :(

I knew it, Lol! I'm envious of those MS's! Very admirable hunting rifle! Got a good buddy, got his dad's old Swedish Mauser 6.5x55, he'd had it since I'm sure WWll, he was in Europe. It's a deadeye, but my buddy has never hunted it. But he won't part with it! Good luck stah after em, Burrrr

I’ve had a decent sized covey of 6.5x55 had for of the early long barreled Swedish Mausers then two of the later shorter version as well as a new CZ550 FS killed a deer or few with the CZ shooting 140 grain handloads . I shot all the military guns but only from the bench and of course with handloads . I like the grouping of 6.5x54MS , 6.5x55 , 260 REM , 6.5x57 . They all fit the same niche and I e enjoyed messing with all of them except the 6.5x57 and that one only because I’ve never had my hands on one .

Looks like fun country to hunt in.

We only have a 2 week firearms season here. There is a late muzzleloader, but I don't care nothing for muzzleloaders. Archery runs from September 7 to January 20 though, and again. I don't care nothing for archery.
