I stopped by Murdoch's Farm and Home Supply as I drove by one on an errand this morning and anyway, they had a 16" Heritage large lever in stock. I asked to see it and was impressed after seeing their .22 last June and not impressed with it.
Anyway, it seems that this Heritage is the new name for the Rossi 92 as it looks and feels just like it, is the same quality and a 20" Rossi carbine they also had and actually had a slightly nicer feeling action.
So, the question I asked back in June here has been answered to my satisfaction. The Heritage center fire levergun is as good as the Rossi 92.
