Very special Jim! And I'd love to see that place! Most special place that's similar that I went was Ft Boonesboro. Everything about it is so interesting to me, but especially as it pertaining to Daniel Boone & Simon Kenton! I never went to it until 2018. As I think of the Alamo, I think of Davy Crockett and Sam Houston!! Thanks for sharing!

Nice stop Jim!

Did you get to the "Hole In The Horn" Saloon? If I recall, there's a neat museum there, and you can buy a beer at the bar and stroll through the exhibits. Lots of Texas Ranger stuff there too -- if I recall. I remember buying the CD of Marty Robbings "Gunfighter Songs" at the gift shop -- my late father had it on a scratchy old record back in the day...

I love visiting San Antonio and see the Alamo every time I go. :D I have a trade show to attend there early next year and plan on bringing Mrs. YK. It will be her first time. :D

I have a photo somewhere of Bill Bagwell and me with crossed Bowie knives in front of the Alamo.

Truly feels like hallowed ground when you are there. So glad I got to see it and the new visitor center with my brothers and cousin.

Cool!

Closest I've come was last Saturday morning when the siding crew got here. I looked out the windows about 7am and the house was surrounded by a dozen Mexicans. :D

I have been to The Alamo about six times. Each time I learn something new, and the new things I learn make me more in absolute awe of the heroes who died there. Everyone should experience the Alamo, and make sure you give it plenty of time. You will be well rewarded.

(On my last visit, I ended up doing CPR on an elderly person who went down with a cardiac arrest. I have no idea on the ultimate outcome for the victim as the local fire department and paramedics arrived and 'relieved' me.)
