Re: Catching a Rocket...
There's a scfi trilogy of books that center around the development and use or reusable rockets. I can't remember the title but think it was Starfire. It's almost like Elon read those books and just decided to do it.

Re: Catching a Rocket...
OK ok I like Musk too, but be wary, Musk believes he can save mankind by colonizing Mars. This is called a messiah complex, and his plans include deceiving the entire world via ai-chat-lies, and all of this synchronizes with the "end times" of the last days of the late-great-planet-earth, which is what Musk wants to save us from. Anybody recognize this exact proposition ? Or / And see the irony here?
just sayin'

Re: Catching a Rocket...
was this the story where people ice skated on the canals in winter time, reaching around mars when travel was easy?
Re: Catching a Rocket...
My bad. The Sci-Fi book series was Fire Star. And it was four books. Fire Star, Rogue Star, Lodestar and Falling Star. And with regards to colonizing Mars, I believe that was part of the plot. Or it may have been the moon. It's been a long time since I read them.

Re: Catching a Rocket...
This is cool. From reading Buck Rogers Sunday comics, before I started school, I had a recurring technicolor dream of being in the back yard with my sister and watching a Buck Rogers rocket land tail down in our yard. I can still see it.jeepnik wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 4:05 pm My bad. The Sci-Fi book series was Fire Star. And it was four books. Fire Star, Rogue Star, Lodestar and Falling Star. It makes me wonder about Musk's technicolor dreams.
