I do like that type on firearms like AR's, and I have bought the Gucci brands as well as knock-offs, and either they fit or they don't, and either they are made well (you can tell by handling them) or they aren't.
I see comments on websites about them that "these came loose and I dropped my $4,000 gun on concrete..."
Hmmm.....
I think there are a few issues there - one is that I have to wonder if they double-checked that the swivel fully seated. The other is that the 'anti-rotation' type have raised areas in the female part in between the detents, and if you insert the male part so the ball bearings are at that point, the swivel CAN'T seat; you need to slightly twist the swivel as you insert it so that the bearings will actually enter one or the other detent properly.
Finally - if I want a won't-come-off sling that I can trust well enough to fling a $4,000 gun around with.....I'm NOT going to use any kind of detachable sling. I'm going to use a webbing that threads through a slot in the stock or wraps around the barrel, or I'm going to make one from ParaCord.
Apologies to those here on the forum who may share my 5th-grade-kid humor and mindset, because I realize that some snickering might be inspired by the middle paragraph above...

Doc,
Single point slings for AR’s…….for other guns the sling swivel that have a turn thingy on them and they won’t back out.you can’t undo them until you turn the turn thingy the other way….make sense? Now, do it.
I have used the magpul QDs for well over a decade including dragging them through some rough terrain during "skull drags". I have never had one come loose or even seen anyone elses pop loose.
My Excalibur crossbow has QD cups so I tried a single point, its a bit ungainly with the limbs. The deathnell was the night I got home from hunting, uncased it in the dark, pointed it at my bow target to unload it and unbeknownst to me( in the dark) the sling was between the string and limb. I pulled the trigger and the drag on that side was enough to make that limb delaminate. Now it has a 1" wide leather sling that is just long enough to go over my shoulder and can't get in the way!

I'd never trust most sling swivels with a $4k firearm anyway. As you mentioned an old period correct sling swivel is reliable, and not quick detachable. They're probably one I'd trust. I've also got a sling that's universal style where each end of the sling is a slip loop that I slide over the buttstock and barrel on guns not setup for a sling. I've used it numerous times when taking my old single shots out hunting, and it's failproof. Only issue is the loop around the barrel can block the front sight picture, so once I get to where I'm going to stop I loosen it and slip it off the barrel until I'm ready to start hiking again.
