.30-30 bullets and loads

I'm sure this has been beat to death but I cant find the threads so bear with me please. I just bought a very nice Marlin 336A for metallic silhouette. Since I consider life too short to be sitting around molding bullets, who in your experience is the best commercial producer of cast lead bullets fo...

Didnt mean to ruffle anyone's feathers here, seems like there's always someone who takes things a little too serious. I OWN a Colt HBAR and have for years, it's probably got 8-9000 rounds through it. It's just that I am sick and tired of the black rifle "tactical" krapp that seems to be al...

Gun shop road trip

This morning my friend and I left Yuma and traveled to Lake Havasu City, AZ, a distance of about 150 miles, to browse some gunshops we heard were there. Found three. Two were not very interesting to us, full of black gun krapp and such. The other one was a real joy, very like the gunshops we remembe...

your rifle

For the last 20 years or so I have harvested a pronghorn with a .50 caliber flintlock Tennessee rifle. Yours should be entirely adequate. Dont get all in a knot about this load vs that load, just be able to hit where you aim and all will be well. Have fun!!

Re: Outstanding old gun website

One of the problems is most of these gunshow dealers look up their guns on the internet sales sites, Gunbroker etc, then price their guns accordingly. " Hey buddy, that's a great price, same as Gunbroker and you dont have to pay the shipping!" The internet dealers are so over the top on th...

I know what you mean, j miller, but we have been going to Arizona for so long I now drive like a native, 30 mph over the speed limit, tailgating 2 feet behind, honking my horn at every opportunity, never but NEVER signalling a lane change or a turn, waving a one-finger salute at anyone with an out o...

OT- time to head south

Here in Wyoming, our local hardware store had their annual sidewalk sale on snowblowers a few days ago, which means it's time for us to head south!! We will be offline for about 3 weeks as we slowly meander down to sunny Yuma Arizona for the winter months.
