We had combination of pheasants and partridges no pigeons today , but 400 birds no d the less . I shot the 8 gauge 23 and knocked down 13 . Didn’t shoot the 10 as well today . Remembering P.O. Ackley's tests of WWII bolt action rifles. The early Arisaka's were the strongest and safest of all of them. He overloaded and blew up a bunch of rifles in his tests. I used several pounds of VV N-110 I’m the Savage 10ML-II I had . 42 grains of N-110 pushing a 250 grain 45 cal projectile in a plastic sabot typically shot very very well , just make sure you use a tight sabot and not those TC ez glide things .

Are you positive it doesn’t have a damaged crown or a ringed barrel? I find it hard to believe conventional bullets will not work. I had a 284 that would not shoot even after a recrown. I gotta say to be honest all three suck USPS UPS and FredEx . But I have to choose UPS . We’ve had stuff get destroyed on UPS and so far knock on wood always come out atleast breaking even . USPS and FredEx not so much .

Anytime I shoot /shot a buck he would go into the grinder sans backstraps. Most of the does would go for actual cuts.
