Thank you for posting this. I'm glad you like your new rifle and that it works great. The points you gave us are very helpful for everyone that comes next wondering how the new leverguns are in terms of quality, durability, fit/finish, and usability. Your experience also explains to me the popularit...

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I'm gonna try and reply to as many as possible. Last first. Trader Vic: You're right. There are some great Marlins and Winchesters on the used market. Mew 30-30. Marlin or Mossberg
I know that many here are fans of buying used, but someone needs to buy the new stuff otherwise they will stop making them all together. I figure I'm a good candidate for that role. I'm not going to hunt with it, I'm not looking for a collectors piece. It is going to be a range tool and a co...

Saw it today with the wife. We both enjoyed it thoroughly. Between the two of us, I was the one more critical. I would not say that The Lone Ranger or his civilian side, AKA John Reid, are anti gun. He is anti-killing. Just like the Clayton Moore model. (I never saw him kill anyone, just shot them i...

Personally, I prefer the wood and metal look myself over the tactical version, but wehen I showed a 19 year old a picture of the SPX, he fell in love!
Maybe, just maybe, the SPX is a way to get the Halo crowd into leverguns.

My dad was very adamant that you cant eat rabbit before the first frost, because of parasites. Distance of 15 yds, bow of 60lbs, used field points. Will use broadheads next time, fieldpoints are slow killers, even on small game. I heard the same about rabbits in Florida. Great shot though! 8)

Re: 357mag levergun vs 300 BLK AR15
I think it's a great observation and am glad it was brought up.
I look at it this way. With my .357 levergun, I can effectively use the big rounds to properly hunt hogs with. If I buy an AR, I can now convert it to do the same with 300 blackout.

Re: No Power - One Week minus two hours !
The fuel needed for that length of time depends on the generator. When hurricane Charlie hit the generators we used at work would run out of fuel roughly every third day. (It powered the travel trailer that was being used as the office. Computers, A/C, lights, ect) That was for both diesel and gas. ...

I have two out of three personal deam combos.
Henry H-001 and Heritage Rough Rider in 22.

My dream combo would be a 1894 Winchester and a BFR single action in 30/30. I know it's weird to want a 30/30 revolver, but...
