Re: New Wildcat Project for my 1886 450 2.44"
Your 450 wildcat is a logical extension of the 450 Alaskan. The 450 Alaskan was designed around the 348 Win case but with good strong brass available in 50/110, it would make sense to design a new cartridge that would utilise a full length 50/110 case. I assume your wildcat is based on a necked down...

Nice pick up.
I don’t know that the length, width and depth of the action is any different to a regular 94 action. It would be interesting to compare that action with a regular 94.

I have a Marlin in 35Rem and the twist rate is 1 in 16”. That rifle accurately stabilises cast FN pills that weigh 250gr. It’s really about the length of the bullet. I have two B-92’s, one in 44 and another in 357. Both are great rifles and chamberings. The 44 needs a little more attention if loading cast, as it has a large groove diameter and shallow rifling. It’s the 50/90 Sharps case that has a base diameter of 0.565. The 50 AK is just a shortened 50/110. It wasn’t exactly interchangeable and had to have areas relieved to fit. I didn’t trust myself to do it and had a stock maker fit it properly.

I'm not sure why there's such a disparity, particularly as the serial number doesn't appear to have been tampered with.
I only paid $180 for it at an auction and it will still make an interesting small game rifle, albeit now with a few questions about its history.
