They are currently sending out infantry with too much weight. Often a hundred pounds or more.
A squad-level sniper with a 7.62 and scope can do that job...heck, you can buy the rifle at Cabelas...

It was probably a Monday morning gun, the guys were all hung over! :D Like Blaine says- send it back. I've dealt with them a couple times. Call them, ManSplain the problem, they'll send you a postage-free mailer and some paperwork to fill out about the problem, and in a couple weeks they'll mail it...

We're down to around 3.30 or so. Arco AM/PM is a smidge under 3 cash price. The difference is all state gas tax.

I can't find the reference, but I read that when the .357 mag was first introduced They took it to Africa and dispatched all manner of big game with it, and IIRC even an elephant. I recall that the only load they had for it at that time was the 158 grain solid.

Even metals that are much softer than barrel steel will eventually wear on the barrel.
