Re: OT- Old photo of tough looking cow boy.
Almost 30 years since I've been on a horse but I can tell that guy knows how to ride one. Reminds me of when my mom was teaching me, "get your heels down and your toes in and sit up straight in that saddle!"

Re: OT - Show us your swords!
I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess on this one is an 1810 Militia Artillery NCO Sabre. It's a little rough but it's my own little piece of history. http://i872.photobucket.com/albums/ab289/StarlifterCC/Swords/DSC00388.jpg http://i872.photobucket.com/albums/ab289/StarlifterCC/Swords/DSC00393.jpg

Re: 357 Magnum vs 327 Federal
I can't speak to .327 vs. .357 caliber effectiveness but for carry I prefer the fixed sight 2.25" DAO .357 for snag-free draw and good concealability along with the magnum power. It looks like the .327 only comes in 3.06" and has a hammer spur and adjustable rear sight. Still doable I gues...

Re: OT: lets see them scatter guns
It ain't pretty, it ain't collectible, and it ain't for huntin', but it's a scattergun.

Re: LEO Attitude toward citizens and guns?
The optometrist in this article is who I had in mind when I said "routine warrant". I hadn't seen this particular article before it popped up in my google search just now, but it does address what I was saying rather nicely.

Re: LEO Attitude toward citizens and guns?
I have seen this attitude among LEO's where they differentiate between themselves and "civilians". The fact is that LEO's ARE civilians. A civilian, by definition, is someone who is not a member of their country's armed forces, in other words, the military. I see this as an unfortunate by-...

Re: 357 Mag - 38 Special +p - 38 Special ???
Can it be said that the ranking of pressures would be: 1st 357 mag 2nd 38 Special +P 3rd 38 Special Assuming that to be the case, can you use numbers 2 and 3 in a 357 Mag designated firearms? Yes, this is correct. 357 mag = 35,000psi 38+p = 20,000psi 38 = 17,000psi This is from the Speer #14 manual

Re: Gentlemen whats your favorite
I would have to pick my Ruger 10/22's (one scoped, one not). I love shooting at spinners and other reactive targets with those. Can shoot 'em all day and not spend a fortune doing it.
A .22LR levergun is definately on my wish list.

I don't have a favorite yet as I'm still learning. Has anyone tried H322? I've seen that recommended for CLAS and am thinking about trying it out.

Re: Hawes Western Marshall, Info Anyone?
I friend of mine has one of these, she was recently asking me if I knew anything about them. It belonged to her husband who passed away about 25 years ago. I'm sure it hasn't been fired since then. It's a nickel-plated .45 Western Marshal with black pearlized grips. Real pretty gun. It feels heavy t...

Re: OT- Concealed carry
I prefer wheelguns myself. I found that my .357 SP101 is most comfortable for me in a OWB with a t-shirt or untucked flannel shirt over it. Dark, patterned shirts seem to work best. The SP101 also fits well in a coat pocket in cold weather. If I need "deep concealment", it hides well in a ...

Ran across this forum one day a couple of months ago and keep finding myself here again. Always something going on it seems. Thought I should sign up and introduce myself if I'm going to make a habit of frequenting this place. I have a couple of .30-30 leverguns that I like to plink and shoot target...
